VII. LIPI Science Forum for Peace (2019): “Science can purify religion from error and superstition. Religion can purify science from idolatry and false absolutes”, said the great Pope John Paul II. Drawing inspiration from the complementarity of Science and Religion, LIPI has a forum for science and peace that makes use of the advancements in both science and religion for promoting peace. Cosmic retreats, seminars and publications are major tools for this venture. Fr. Binoy Jacob, S. J, and Dr K Babu Joseph are heading this forum. Science forum organized five seminars and two conferences since 2016. The recent programme was held on Saturday 23 February 2019 on Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Computing:Challeges and Prospects by Prof. Dr. K. Babu Joseph (Former Vice Chancellor, Cochin University of Science and Technology).
